ABOUT
Nestled amidst volcanoes, on the banks of Lake Mikizha within the Laguna SPA hotel, the FANTALIS architectural bureau has crafted a remarkable oasis. The design team conceived a contemporary restaurant seamlessly blended into the surrounding landscape.
The restaurant adopts a “barnhouse” architectural style. Expansive panoramic windows create a bright and “transparent” space, immersing guests in the surrounding natural environment. To preserve this ambiance even after sunset, the architects ingeniously incorporated skylights into the roof, reflecting sunlight and generating captivating plays of light within. During evening hours, these skylights dramatically transform the facade with unique illumination, unveiling a fresh perspective on the architecture.
Minimalist geometric forms and the use of natural materials further enhance the restaurant's ambiance, echoing a commitment to sustainability and its connection with the land. The interior showcases natural tones and textures that are emblematic of the Kamchatka region.
Throughout the conceptualization phase, the architects aimed to allow guests to continue experiencing the thrill and wonder of conquering Kamchatka’s stunning peaks after their expeditions. Retaining a sense of being at the world's edge, surrounded by volcanoes and limitless landscapes, even while enjoying a delicious meal, was a priority.
