ABOUT

ARCORA BOUTIQUE HOTEL & VILLAS — MUSE Hotel Awards 2026
Hospitality Design / AD2665 Scenic Environment Hotel Design

Arcora Boutique Hotel & Villas is a new benchmark in Arctic luxury hospitality, opening in December 2026 in Torassieppi, Muonio, Finnish Lapland - on the edge of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, one of Finland's most pristine wilderness areas.
Designed by PAVE Architects (Oulu, Finland), Arcora is built on a single guiding principle: that architecture must emerge from its place, not be imposed upon it. The design process began not with a concept board, but with the landscape itself - the sweeping views toward the Pallastunturi fells, the texture of the surrounding pine forest, and the quality of Arctic light across all eight of Lapland's seasons.
The result is a property of 5,687 m² comprising 42 boutique hotel suites and 20 detached private villas, each oriented to maximise connection with the natural surroundings. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the fells and northern sky. Materials are drawn from the local vernacular - wood, stone, and natural tones that strengthen with the seasons rather than age against them. The architecture does not compete with the landscape; it completes it.
Interior design, also led by PAVE Architects, carries the same intention from the exterior inward. The spirit of the place - the silence, the light, the sense of time standing still — is present in every detail, from spatial proportions to the selection of materials and finishes. The suites and villas feel rooted rather than installed, as if they have always belonged to this particular patch of Lapland.
The property includes a rooftop infinity pool designed for Northern Lights viewing, a full spa and wellness sanctuary, panoramic saunas, and a restaurant concept curated by Executive Chef Arto Rastas, whose culinary philosophy mirrors the architectural one: local, seasonal, and deeply connected to place.
Arcora is developed by Harriniva Hotels & Safaris, a third-generation Finnish family company with over 50 years of presence in Finnish Lapland. The project represents a new chapter - not a departure from that heritage, but its most considered expression yet.
PAVE Architects' design philosophy holds that there are no shortcuts in great design, and that timeless outcomes require the courage to look beyond current trends. Arcora is the result of exactly that commitment: a place where silence, nature, craft and luxury meet without contradiction.
