Luxuty Chalet Elitsa Wellness & Spa is a 5-star boutique hotel situated among the centuries-old pine forests of Vitosha mountain in close proximity to Sofia. The surroundings predetermine the vision for the design of the hotel that harmonizes with nature and implements natural materials.
The project of this site includes the renovation of a 60 year old hotel with rich history behind it. The existing base, as well as the construction of several additional structures have been turned into a modern mountain hotel. The implementation includes a new look of the facade, as well as all interior spaces – lobby, reception, lobby bar, restaurant, children’s playground, indoor pool, spa area, gym, as well as 40 guest rooms and suites with elegant design, which are divided into two categories - double and deluxe.
The facade is made of thermo-borne wood cladding, with accent decorative elements of moulded sheet metal and composite panels in contrasting graphite colour. The windows are made of natural wood frames, which contributes to the feeling of warmth and cosiness in the interior. The original granite façade cladding of the ground floor of the building taken from the very same mountain is kept as a reminder of the grand architectural style from the socialist era and the history of the hotel.
The luxurious interior spaces use dark and reflective materials such as black glass, wide-format marble, high-quality quilted textiles, and vinyl wallpaper. The cosy feel is complemented by traditional mountain-style elements. The design of the ceilings uses decorative wood panelling and for the walls are provided a variety of materials such as composite panels of pinewood, ceramics, and high-quality wallpaper.
The landscape is enriched with ornamental plant species that complement the dignified appearance of the pine forest and add emphasis to the overall look of the hotel.
The SPA design of the hotel combines the mountain spirit and the art of the eastern philosophes to achieve a secluded and cozy atmosphere.
The design aims to provide a sense of lux while at the same time making the guests feel like they are at home. The mix of cozy and elegant alpine interior and the surrounding natural riches of Vitosha, offer a great environment for a secluded and relaxing experience near the city.
