The Garland's beloved neighborhood restaurant, The Front Yard, celebrates Los Angeles’ diverse food scene in a setting glowing with Old Hollywood charm. Executive Chef Larry Greenwood creates an approachable, yet elevated menu of seasonally-inspired dishes utilizing quality fresh produce paired with distinctive flavors —from Chorizo Deviled Eggs and Green Garbanzo Hummus to popular dinner items like Valley Fried Chicken. Guests will also enjoy selections of California craft beers, along with specialty cocktails such as “Cranky J,” named after James Crank, owner of The Garland and son of actress Beverly Garland; and “The Garland 1972,” an anniversary cocktail boasting a delicious combination of plantation 3 stars rum, aperol, fresh citrus juices and myers dark rum float, which honors the rise of sugar, fruit and themed cocktails in the 1970s.
The expansive outdoor patio allows guests to dine under the sycamores, complete with bistro lights and a large fireplace as its centerpiece. Designed by Crank, his partner Scott Elliott, and Steve and Kate Rossi of the firm Rossi Architecture, the team drew inspiration from the hotel’s surroundings to bring the outdoors in, combined with The Garland’s existing blend of mid-century modern architecture and modern mission styling, while paying homage to California in the 1970s and the property’s muse, Beverly Garland. This year, the restaurant’s private dining room will undergo a transformation into the ultimate 70’s-inspired lounge, perfect for a variety of gatherings — from corporate meetings to intimate parties. The expansion will feature a new private bar and patio space along with a separate entrance providing ultimate privacy for any and all VIP events. A celebrity hotspot, The Front Yard serves as a destination to the stars with recurring A-list sightings including Selena Gomez, Halsey, and Jason Momoa (to name a few).
Guests will also enjoy the signature restaurant’s very own wine label, Sky Ranch Rosé, inspired by Southern California’s limitless sunshine and the brand’s strong family ties. Produced at the ranch home of Carrington Goodman, daughter of Beverly Garland, the rosé is grown in her own “Garland Vineyard” in Santa Ynez Valley. The signature blend encourages family and friends to raise a toast to the brand’s fabulous 50th anniversary. To make the most of the delicious new blend, The Front Yard extends the weekend Rosé All Day offer, inviting guests to enjoy bottles of the signature wine at just $25 each with the purchase of an entrée.
