“Thirteen” @ Chateau Denmark
Located in the wider Soho neighbourhood, Chateau Denmark opened in early 2022 and mixes creative expression with architectural detail. Inspired by a neighbourhood where things were never done by half measures, its 55 Session Rooms and Apartments are set across 16 buildings along the one-hundred-yard Denmark Street. Known for its musical heritage, Denmark Street is where the Sex Pistols once lived, the Rolling Stones recorded their debut album and it is also rumoured to be where Bowie invented Stardust. With an aesthetic that channels everything from Gothic to Psychedelia, in addition, Chateau Denmark’s bar, Thirteen, along with basement club -dial8.
The Interior creations by Grapes Design both spaces bring a maximalist design approach.”Thirteen” is bold and energetic, a blend of gothic and hedonistic spectacle, grand details can be felt through form, fabrics and finishes. The grandeur of the central reception chair sits in the centre of the Thirteen, with intimate bespoke shell-like booths wrapping around the four windows will be scenes from the largest scale print of Damian Frost’s ‘Soho Tableaux’ - a spectacle in and of itself. A brutalist ceiling, and molten ceramic bar, avant-garde lights sets the scene for what can best be described as good times with bad company
