ABOUT
The Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh is the playfully unafraid answer to boutique hotels in Pittsburgh, located at the intersection of 6th Avenue and William Penn Place, across from the prestigious Mellon Square Park. Downtown truly is the heart of the city, and this property sits smack in the middle, allowing guests to easily see the sights on foot (or by complimentary PUBLIC bike or MicroKickboard scooter). The hotel is a short jaunt from nearby stadiums and arenas, the convention center, and cultural landmarks like the Strip District and Market Square.
A beautiful, meticulous restoration of the city’s iconic Beaux Arts-style James H. Reed Building originally built in 1903, the hotel features nine stories, 248 guest-rooms, over 11,000-square-feet of meeting space and a chef-driven, 120-seat restaurant with a prominent street entrance called The Commoner. Inside the property, you'll encounter bold dashes of color (tufted Kelly green headboard, anyone?), curious touches (a bedside chandelier ensconced in a golden birdcage), impactful design (a massive dried flower chandelier in the lobby), and a wink to the city's hockey team (the ceramic penguin lamp perched on your desk). Surprises lay around every corner, delighting and engaging guests to want more.
The property leads the pack with its bold and unique take on programming, packages and guest experience. From our postcard station in our living room (featuring local artists' work), to our meetings + events partnership with local magician Lee Terbosic, to our stunning ballroom that leave wedding guests in awe, to our complimentary pet policy and beyond, there is no denying the impact that the hotel has had on the Steel City. For families, our partnership with 4Moms makes it incredibly easy to travel with little ones, allowing parents to simply borrow equipment like pack-and-plays, tubs and beyond.
The on-property team make up some of the best in the business, lending a human touch in all aspects of the stay. As with all Kimpton properties, the hotel also features yoga mats in every room, luxury Atelier Bloem bath amenities, hosted nightly wine hour, morning coffee hour, and access to premium services like TalkSpace and Wag!.
